DIGITAL CITIZENSHIP

Picture
RSU 9 wants to help students be safe and respectful online citizens.  Librarians across the district are teaching this skill using a curriculum from Common Sense, an online nonprofit organization dedicated to helping kids thrive in a world of media and technology.   The skills we teach include being respectful online, understanding online safety procedures, accessing reliable and appropriate educational websites, learning methods to deal with online bullying, and identifying what information about yourself is appropriate to share.  Taken as a whole, this curriculum is referred to as Digital Citizenship.  Common Sense provides information and tips for parents as well.  Families can access the site by using this web address:  https://www,commonsensemedia.org.
